Hammer Design is proud to have won a National Trust commission...

to design and install an interpretation project at Canons Ashby in Northamptonshire, home to the Dryden family for over four centuries and now a fascinating and complex patchwork of each generations' contribution to the estate.

Following a three 3 way pitch, Hammer Design teamed up with Sheffield based inHeritage to relay the story to visitors of all ages of how Canons Ashby has evolved and been influenced by its inhabitants since the days when the majestic, medieval priory was home to the Augustinian canons from which Canons Ashby takes its name.  The project will interpret the restoration of the garden to its former glorious 19th century design, create a guide to the walks around the park, refresh the church interpretation and present Canons Ashby as an ideal  family destination. As well as the panels and trail guides, we will be producing a website where visitors can find out more before their visit, download trails and share their experiences.
