Vintage Bluebird

Hammer Design were recently given the opportunity to design a website from scratch for this new gifts and homeware company. 

The Client

Based out of a small courtyard store in Derbyshire, Vintage Bluebird sell vintage inspired gifts and home accessories that are sourced from small independent UK suppliers.  With an emphasis on unique and ethically produced goods, from companies with a long standing reputation for quality, Vintage Bluebird’s shelves are stacked with a range of home accessories that are seldom found on the high street.

The Brief

To design a brand new website for a brand new company!  Hammer Design built on Vintage Bluebird’s existing style concepts that had been developed for their bricks and mortar business, working to help those ideas evolve into a great looking and functional e-commerce website.

Aims and purpose of the website

Primary
To support the existing store with increased online sales.

Secondary

To enhance the Vintage Bluebird brand and support the bricks and mortar business.
To create an ecommerce website that was simple and easy to use.
To promote the company to customers both local and further afield.
To introduce social network marketing to Vintage Bluebird customers and prospective customers alike.

The Process

Hammer Design first established a logo design that identified with Vintage Bluebird’s key branding requirements.  The unique “handmade” style of the logo and the website evokes all that the company celebrates and offers Vintage Bluebird future branding opportunities for everything from signage through to stationary.
After the initial design and styling Hammer Design embarked on extensive content addition and CSS styling, with card integration to produce a fully-comprehensive online shop.

The Outcome

Multiple sales were received in the first few weeks and Vintage Bluebird now has an online presence that allows them to communicate with their customers and will enable future customers to find them more easily.
