The Client

The Climbing Works is a pioneering new indoor climbing wall - a bouldering wall where experts and novices can rub shoulders together in the same buzzing atmosphere of 'climb to live, live to climb' or just drink coffee and watch others get ripped.

The Brief

1. To upgrade the existing website with a more current design, improved navigation and additional features
2. To improve social networking integration with facebook, twitter, vimeo and you tube
3. To totally enhance and upgrade the online shop
4. To preserve succesfull existing SEO rankings

The Process

Hammer Design were invited to put together a brief that outlined improvements to the old website. Continuous development and loads of features were now at the disposal of the Hammer Design team and there was a mutual desire to show off.

A well ranked website already, The Climbing Works website required improved blogging and social networking functionality.

Critical to the process was to create a more visible, and easier to use online shop. An e-commerce functionality that allowed much improved 'wiring up' of products together, easier ordering and option selection with more space to add additional helpful pages to each product.

The Outcome

Results: A new look, massively improved product visibility, improved usability for users and the Works staff.
Increased product page indexing with search engines. Increased sales - easy VAT change on January 4th. Improved product ordering, sorting, display, page management and many more features.
