Gillian's charity website for Bluebell Wood
Gillian has been an inspiration to Hammer Design since we first met her. Her tireless fundraising for the Bluebell Wood childrens hospice has seen her cover hundreds of miles year after year. Her full story remains untold and we plan to be a part of the telling as we produce her book 'Golden Miles' in the very near future.
Tom is Gillian's 13 year old son and is one of the first children to use the newly built children's hospice. Tom was born with a serious heart defect and is severely brain damaged and requires 24-hour care. In his short life he has had 3 respiratory arrests serious choking episodes and has regular epileptic fits. Gillian's other son Sam had a stroke and has cerebral palsy and also requires constant care.
For her family and the many families throughout Derbyshire and South Yorkshire who care for sick children the support from a children’s hospice is so important.
